Courtney Barnett is well over a year removed from her debut full-length, Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit, and yet she continues to remind us why it’s one of our favorite albums in recent memory. Today, she’s unveiled a quirky, cameo-heavy video for the album’s latest single, “Elevator Operator”.
Directed by Sunny Leunig and featuring appearances from Sleater-Kinney and Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy, the video depicts Barnett as — you guessed it — an elevator operator inside Melbourne’s Nicholas Building. After a series of strange encounters, Barnett finally makes it to the top of the building where she joins her band in performing the spirited rocker. Other cameos include The Drones, Magda Szubanski, Tim Rogers, and Paul Kelly.
Watch it above.
