Ewan McGregor delivers emotional cover of David Bowie’s “Heroes” — watch

Each week seems to bring a new batch of high-profile tributes to the late, great David Bowie. In just the last few days alone, we’ve seen Coldplay frontman Chris Martin cover “Heroes” on a mini keyboard, and watched as Red Hot Chili Peppers took on “Cracked Actor” while raising money on behalf of presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders. Now, another big name has stepped up to pay homage to The Man Who Fell to Earth: Ewan McGregor.

Last night during a Bowie tribute concert in Hollywood, the Star Wars actor delivered a passionate, almost theatrical, rendition of “Heroes”. McGregor, who could be seen throwing his hands high into the air during the performance, previously covered the Bowie classic as part of the “Elephant Love Medley” in 2001’s Moulin Rouge!, where he portrayed Christian the poet.

The evening also featured performances from Gary Oldman and Seal.
