Even as we enter the final month of the year, 2016 just keeps getting better for BABYMETAL. Their sophomore album, METAL RESISTANCE, is one of the best albums of the year, they’re days away from heading out on a UK tour with Red Hot Chili Peppers, and are about to release a live album recorded at Wembley Arena. Now comes word that they’ll be joining one of the biggest tours of the year by opening for Guns N’ Roses in their home country of Japan.
The J-pop metal trio will take the stage with GNR for four shows across the country in January. “I am really happy that we’ve been confirmed as support on the upcoming Guns N’ Roses tour,” the band’s Su_Metal said in a statement. “And it’s happening in Japan!! We’re going to create a live performance that shows how wonderful Japan is together with everyone in the audience on that tour.”
The dates are the first of 2017 for GNR’s Not In This Lifetime… tour, which has already raked in an ungodly $112 million in ticket sales. Add the hottest young metal revolutionaries to biggest rock legacy act there is, and these Japan shows are sure to be massive. Find both bands’ itineraries below.
