Metallica are still a good six weeks out from releasing their long-awaited new album, Hardwired…To Self-Destruct, but the heavy metal hall of famers have had a particularly busy week promoting the release. They performed at the Global Citizen Festival on Saturday, appeared on the Howard Stern Show on Monday, and staged an intimate club show on Wednesday. To close the week, Metallica delivered their first late-night TV performance behind Hardwired, tearing through “Moth into Flame” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Catch the replay above.
Vice President Joe Biden also appeared on Thursday’s episode of The Tonight Show. Prior to its airing, he gave Metallica a shoutout on Twitter, calling them his “house band.” Gotta love ol’ Joe.
